Studio KAI Reports Net Loss of About $3.56 Million for FY2025 as Deficit Widens and Liabilities Exceed Assets

Animation production company Studio KAI announced its financial results for the fiscal year ending December 2025. The company recorded a net loss of 565,000,000 yen, approximately 3.56 million USD based on an exchange rate of 1 USD to 159 yen, marking a significant increase in losses compared to the previous fiscal year.

In the fiscal year ending December 2024, the company reported a net loss of 248,000,000 yen, approximately 1.56 million USD. The latest figures also confirm that the company is currently in a state of liabilities exceeding assets.

These details were disclosed through a financial notice published in the Official Gazette dated April 13.

Company Background and Recent Anime Works

Studio KAI operates as a subsidiary of ADK Emotions and is engaged in the planning, development, and production of animation projects.

Among its recent works, the anime Sentenced to Be a Hero (JP: 勇者刑に処す, Yuusha Kei ni Shosu received strong global recognition in 2026. Additionally, the studio is involved in the production of several titles airing from April, including The Ramparts of Ice, Snowball Earth, and Mistress Kanan Is Devilishly Easy.
