FAIRY TAIL RE:FANTASIA Volume Released as Hiro Mashima Returns With New Manga
The collected volume of FAIRY TAIL RE:FANTASIA has been released. The manga is the latest entry in the FAIRY TAIL series and marks the first collected volume in about nine years from a FAIRY TAIL work drawn by original creator Hiro Mashima himself.
FAIRY TAIL RE Marks Hiro Mashima's Return to Drawing the Series
FAIRY TAIL RE:FANTASIA was serialized for a limited run in Weekly Shonen Magazine from July to September as part of the 20th anniversary celebrations for FAIRY TAIL.
The series follows a new story featuring protagonist Natsu Dragneel and other familiar characters.
FAIRY TAIL has also produced numerous spin-off works. In FAIRY TAIL: 100 Years Quest, Mashima provides the storyboards while Atsuo Ueda handles the artwork, but FAIRY TAIL RE:FANTASIA is drawn by Mashima himself.
The original FAIRY TAIL manga was serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine from 2006 to 2017. It follows Lucy Heartfilia, a young woman aiming to become a full-fledged wizard, and Natsu Dragneel, a fire-wielding wizard, along with the members of the Fairy Tail guild.
The manga has surpassed 72 million copies in circulation and has also been adapted into a TV anime and games.
