Hunter x Hunter Returns With Volume 39

Created by Yoshihiro Togashi, Hunter x Hunter began serialization in 1998. The adventure fantasy manga follows young protagonist Gon Freecss as he embarks on a journey alongside friends including Killua Zoldyck.

The story is currently set aboard a massive vessel bound for the unexplored continent known as the Dark Continent, where various factions and characters, including Kurapika and members of the Phantom Troupe, pursue their own goals in the ongoing Dark Continent Expedition Arc and Succession Contest Arc.

The manga series has surpassed 84 million copies in circulation worldwide, including digital editions.

Serialization Status

Weekly serialization of Hunter x Hunter originally paused after Chapter 400, which was published in the December 26, 2022 issue of Weekly Shonen Jump.

The series later resumed with Chapter 401 in the October 7, 2024 issue, continuing on a weekly basis. However, Shueisha announced on December 9 that the manga would once again go on hiatus starting with the January 2025 third issue of Weekly Shonen Jump, released on December 16.

A total of 410 chapters have been published in the magazine so far.
