“Godzilla Minus Zero” Teaser Set for April 15 Release, World Premiere at CinemaCon 2026 in the U.S.
The first teaser video for Godzilla Minus Zero will be released on April 15 at 7:55 a.m. Japan time via a premiere on Toho Movie’s official YouTube channel.

Ahead of this, director Takashi Yamazaki will appear at CinemaCon 2026, one of the world’s largest film industry events, held at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The latest footage from the film is scheduled to be revealed there for the first time on April 14 at 9:00 a.m. local time, which corresponds to April 15 at 1:00 a.m. in Japan.
Approximately seven hours later, the teaser will be officially released in Japan, following the global excitement generated at the event.
Continuing the Legacy of a Global Phenomenon
Since its debut in 1954, Godzilla has remained an iconic figure beloved not only in Japan but around the world. The previous film, Godzilla Minus One, released as part of the franchise’s 70th anniversary, achieved box office revenue exceeding 7.65 billion yen.
It also made history by winning the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects at the 96th Academy Awards, becoming the first Asian production to receive the honor. In total, the film earned more than 50 major awards both domestically and internationally.
Rising Expectations for the New Installment
Godzilla Minus Zero continues this momentum, with Takashi Yamazaki once again serving as director, screenwriter, and visual effects supervisor.
The film’s title was first announced as a surprise during Godzilla Fest 2025, held on November 3, also known as Godzilla Day. The announcement quickly became the top trending topic on social media, reflecting strong anticipation among fans.
The film is scheduled for release in Japan on November 3, with a North American release set for November 6. While story details remain completely undisclosed, the upcoming teaser is expected to offer the first glimpse into this new chapter.
