Ichijoma Mankitsu Gurashi! Episode 1 Story & Preview Cuts Released: The School Dorm Is a Manga Cafe

The story and preview images for Episode 1 of the TV anime One Tatami Room Full of Life (JP: 一畳間まんきつ暮らし!, Ichijoma Mankitsu Gurashi!) have been revealed. This episode will air on Sunday, April 12 at 2:00 AM (JST), and will later be available on various international streaming platforms.

Episode 1 Story

Meiko Morita, a high school student from Akita, is selected as a transfer student for the prestigious Amamiya Girls' Academy under conditions that seem almost too good to be true. Upon moving to Tokyo, she discovers that her new dormitory also functions as a manga cafe where she is expected to work as part of her service activities.

Meiko begins her new life in a tiny, one-mat space alongside her fellow residents: Rie Amamiya, the cafe owner, dorm leader, and a refined young lady; Marika Suzuki, a video streamer; and Neo Nakano, a hardcore gamer. However, it turns out that Meiko was only able to transfer because she was mistaken for a budding manga artist named "Meiko Morita."

Introduction

Meiko Morita, a high school student living in Akita, is suddenly chosen as a special transfer student for the prestigious all-girls school, "Amamiya Academy". Filled with a mix of anticipation and anxiety for her dream student life in Tokyo, Meiko makes the move to the big city.

However, what was actually waiting for her was the manga cafe "Hedgehog"! Now, she must live and work as part of a "service activity" in this manga cafe that doubles as a student dormitory, alongside a group of highly eccentric residents.

And so, Meiko's slightly mysterious life in a one-tatami-mat manga cafe begins!
