Gachiakuta Episode 3 Story & Scene Previews Released: Zanka and Riyo Make Their Debut

The story and preview stills for Episode 3 of the TV anime Gachiakuta have been released. The episode will air in Japan on Sunday, July 27, at 11:30 PM JST, and will be available on streaming platforms worldwide shortly after.

Episode 3 will introduce Zanka (voiced by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka) and Riyo (voiced by Yumiri Hanamori), members of Team Akuta, a unit of the Cleaners. Also announced is the addition of Ryusei Nakao—famous for voicing Frieza in Dragon Ball Z—as Alice (a.k.a. Baba), the doctor who treats a wounded Rudo.

Episode 3 Story

Subtitle: The Ground (JP: 下界, Gekai)

Enjin is a Giver—someone who can breathe life into objects and draw out their power. After awakening as a Giver himself, Rudo is scouted by Enjin to join the Cleaners, an organization that battles Trash Beasts born from garbage. Hoping to find a way back to the Floating Town, Rudo agrees to join. However, tensions quickly rise when he clashes with his mentor, Zanka.

New Cast Announcement: Ryusei Nakao Joins as Alice

Ryusei Nakao (as Alice):
"I was eager to play this role ever since the audition, so I was thrilled when I got it. I especially love the line where she shouts, ‘I’m a woman !’ after ranting furiously."

Character Intro: Alice
A doctor who treats Rudo after he falls into the Pit. Though she looks like an old man, she is in fact an old woman.

Introduction

Gachiakuta is a battle action series featuring an orphan boy named Rudo, born in a slum where the descendants of criminals live.
People in the slums are looked down upon and discriminated against as “tribesfolk” by those who live beyond its walls.
Rudo lives together with Regto, the man who raised him, and makes ends meet using his extraordinary physical abilities, despite being called a “trash raider.”
Then one day, he’s falsely accused of a crime and dropped into a fearsome abyss known as the Pit.
