Set in the world-famous public road race “MFG,” which has captivated fans both in Japan and around the world, the story unfolds a year after Kanata Livington, the protégé of Takumi Fujiwara, dominated the race. Now, Subaru Satō from Gunma and Subaru Kudō from Kanagawa prepare to take on MFG, burning with determination to carve out their place in history. The worlds of Initial D and MF GHOST now converge in a new high-octane narrative powered by two racers who share the name Subaru.

Initial D, originally serialized from 1995 to 2013 in Weekly Young Magazine, followed Takumi Fujiwara as he raced across Japan's mountain passes in his father’s tofu delivery car—the legendary AE86 “Hachiroku.” The series became a cultural phenomenon with its gripping depiction of street racing.
Its sequel, MF GHOST, ran from 2017 to 2025 and focused on Kanata Katagiri, Takumi's disciple, who arrives in Japan from the UK to challenge the elite “God 15” in the MFG street racing league. Subaru to Subaru now picks up the torch, promising to continue the legacy of speed, spirit, and destiny on Japan’s winding roads.
